Nürnberg Alumni Photo Album

Come on folks, check in those dusty old boxes and trunks and send in some of your treasures.  Scan them at their full size at a resolution of 72dpi (which is the screens resolution) and forward them with a note explaining what/who/when/where to Webmaster@nurnbergeagles.org.  If you are scanner challenged, then you can mail items to Dan Guy (your webmaster, address is in the Alumni Directory) where they will be carefully scanned and returned to you via 1st class mail (one or two day turnaround).  I take a persons pictures very serious and understand how precious they can be.

A mouse click on any of the images below will cause a larger image to download.

Video's from Days Gone By

We have received some video files converted from old 8mm film.  The quality is what you would expect from that type film, however they are sure to bring back a few memories. I will add more as they become available.  The format of the file is noted next to the subject/name.

EES Picnic at Solder's Field, 1955 - WMV file

Here is a picture I found when looking through my stuff. Richard Weldon is the one throwing the discus (I guess that is how you spell it). I know Bobby Sledge is in the picture, and I think the other guy is Jim Weatherwax, but I am not sure. It was taken May 10th, 1970 at Nurnberg American HS. Thought it was pretty neat.

Thanks,

"Nurnberg Quadrangular" track meet, the first of the 1981 season, won by the home team: Men-Nurnberg: 77.5, Wurzberg: 71.5, Ansbach: 30, Bamberg: 3; Women-Nurnberg: 53.5, Ansbach: 53, Wurzberg: 37, Bamberg: 11.5 That day Sid won the 1600m and 3000m events, and anchored the second-place sprint medley team. I was third, third, and second in the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m respectively. My old newspaper clippings lack the specific dates, but the track season began in mid-March or so; at least the competitive events did. -Courtesy of Gene Nix

Shortly after arriving in Furth, the Berlin Wall went up. I'm sure all of you remember our "missing fathers" who were called out on ALERTS for weeks/months at a time. Surrounded on three sides by the Red Army, my dad spent his ALERT time with his Counter Battery and Counter Personnel Radars on the tip of the "Hof Peninsula" checking on the Czechs. --- Robert E. Now for the Rest of the Story:

Above, in the final moments of the game, Tom and Ralph stare in disbelief as the Junior Girls beautifully exicute the "Standing Flanker Reverse" sealing the Seniors' fate. A historic first time Junior Girls win delivered by the best NHS Powder Puff team ever assembled.

I wish I had my Junior's Roster to post here so that each and everyone of you, individually, would finally receive your well deserved recognition for your outstanding team play that day. I've never forgotten it! My undying gratitude and respect to a well disciplined gaggle of gals! -- Bob Duggar, the Junior's Coach
